Welcome to Settlebeck High School. We are a small, high achieving secondary school with a caring, family ethos.

  • Our class sizes are small, meaning each child can receive personalised attention – we know them all as individuals.
  • Our results are some of the best in the County, for all abilities of children, including the most able.
  • We are able to offer a varied and broad curriculum through collaboration with Kendal College and other South Lakes Federation schools.
  • Our students are well prepared for life after Settlebeck – they make the transition to sixth form and college confidently and are very successful.

OFSTED 2007 quotes:

“Settlebeck is a good school which provides a caring environment in which students are able to flourish. All staff know the students well. Teachers have high expectations, the pace of learning is good and behaviour is good – students enjoy school. Students enter school with standards that are broadly average - they make good progress and achieve well, leaving school with results that are above average. The curriculum is good and meets the needs of the students well – the impact of Technology status is evident.”
